Be My Southern Valentine!

We can think of no more beautiful cuisine to share on a date than Coastal Southern, an abundance of flavors both rich and vibrant that is as intoxicating as love . Of course, we will throw in some indulgences to make your evening special. I am especially excited for bread service to be a wonderful and historic spoonbread known in Charleston as Awendaw, named for the Native Americans who inhabited the land just north of Charleston and had a staple preparation that was similar. It epitomizes the food of lovers in my mind – at once intensely rich yet impossibly light and creamy, it will make folks skeptical of cornbread swoon. And, an interesting bit of Big Jones trivia: Awendaw is the root from which the recipe for our popular cornbread muffin grew.

I am also proud to be offering a 5-course vegetable menu in addition to the tasting menu. I’ve promised more vegetable menus and hope to offer more in the future. This one will be special.
