Those of us who have called Chicago home for most of our lives know how much we all love to relish these days of summer and this one has been especially warm and sultry. So much so, in fact, that sweet corn, tomatoes, and peaches have all started to pop up at local farmer’s markets! For the third year, we will combine another passion of ours, sustainable seafood, with this local bounty to create a special menu to feature the best summer eating as we take in the laziest days of summer.
We’ll pair the pristine produce from our farmer friends with the pristine seafood caught by America’s fishing families. It’s the best way to celebrate summer, and takes us back to childhood vacations and mornings whiled away at the fishing hole, lazy days that would follow with feasts prepared from the catch and the garden and nearby farmstands.
You can look forward to catfish and oyster po boys, crawfish etouffee, salmon from Alaska, and special shrimp and crab dishes, plus our summer tradition and southern icon, peach cobbler!
